About Holmwoods

Holmwoods is run by husband and wife, Mike and Sue Holmwood. We started in 1984, with a small shop in Princess Victoria Street, Clifton. Then, in 1989, we moved to our current, and much bigger location, on Whiteladies Road.

In many cases, our prices are the lowest you will find among similar retailers. We offer value for money, a huge choice, and friendly service.

Well known for our impressive collection of woollen sweaters in winter, while in summer, the shop is filled with a colourful array of linen and cotton jackets and trousers, together with the ever-popular striped Breton T-shirts.

Sue and Mike Holmwood continue to source fine quality men and womenswear from France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Scotland and Ireland, often finding new, up and coming companies that are exclusive to Holmwoods.

We have two large windows and we change the displays every week. It’s like a weekly fashion page.

Over the years we have changed the mix of things we sell. We are now much more like a fashion shop. Our clothes are very wearable, and fabrics are mostly natural fibres.
